I have taught accounting, management information systems, leadership, and strategy at five institutions on three continents: the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Pennsylvania State University, Governors State University, Shenyang Jianzhu University, and Shenyang University of Technology. I have also lectured at universities in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Spain, and Venezuela, and have taken students abroad to Poland, South Africa, and Panama.
My teaching spans the undergraduate accounting sequence, graduate managerial and strategic accounting, database development, and graduate strategy. The range is deliberate. Accounting information systems sit at the boundary between two fields that universities usually keep apart, and teaching on both sides of that boundary is what makes the connection legible to students.
I have developed more than twenty-five online courses and co-developed an online MBA in Supply Chain Management and a Master’s in Business Analytics. The design problem that occupies me is the one my research addresses: asynchronous instruction that is genuinely effective yet economical enough to scale. I hold the Quality Matters Teaching Online Certificate.
From 2019 to 2024 I served as Director of Accreditation and Assessment for the College of Business, with responsibility for assurance of learning. I am a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, ABET, Quality Matters, and MERLOT, and I served as Assistant to the Provost for the comprehensive accreditation project at Universidad Ramon Llull in Barcelona.
